Amnesty

By Vative C. Onser
I'm having a great deal of difficulty trying to understand the motives of our
elected officials, when it comes to granting amnesty to illegal aliens. One cannot
apply simple logic to this scheme and come up with anything resembling common
sense, so there must be something other than simple logic involved. What exactly
are the benefits?
Let us examine some of the repercussions...

* A localized population of "Americans" who have developed the mindset that America
is a land where laws are class oriented, and if you are in a suitable class, you are
immune from the penalties of the law, (we have enough problems with this type of
thing just dealing with our own politicians...).
* A new breed of voters who will propagate the ideals that will serve to undermine
the core structure of our free society, reducing it to something other than it was
intended to be. America was built on the foundation that everyone who worked
diligently would receive the rewards of their labor. Those who became invalid would
be carried by the wealth of the surplus provided by those who had engineered a
fruitful harvest, be it agriculture, education, industry, artistry, or legacy. I
have to ask: What have these people provided over the years, except a profound
interest in proliferating a their own society that is based in parasitism, deceit
and an ever increasing desire to get more for less?
* If America bows down to this kind of badgering on the lowest levels what will it
succumb to on the higher levels? Less than 50 years ago communism was considered to
be an intolerable reality that would never be welcome in the land of the free and
home of the brave... When we turn our collective eyes away from this kind of
subversive behavior, we are, through dereliction of duty, relinquishing our power to
maintain the best governing concept that mankind has been able to conceive, since
the beginning of civilization. Remember these words: "We, the people , in order to
form a more perfect union... to provide for the national defense..." Do any of the
illegals circumventing our laws even know what these words mean? How about these
words: "I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America; and to the
republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty, and
justice for all". The European immigrants in 1940's were willing to die for this
concept; the illegal mexican immigrants of today would wipe their feet (or other
body parts) on this piece of sheepskin, completely ignorant or indifferent to the
connotations of this symbolic gesture. After all, what allegiance have they shown to
their own country?
* Everything I have heard from the leadership in Mexico somehow always refers back
to the fact that they could do more, have more, be more, if only America would
exercise more generosity and liberalism with regards to the state of Mexico's
affairs. We help many countries with our generosity; meanwhile there are still
hungry Americans. It would be crass to think that Mexico's hungry people would be
more important than our own. But still, there are people that think we should step
over our own to look after those. Why?
* When in Rome...
More often than not, the immigrants in the 1940's would discourage their children
from speaking their native language around the house, because it would hamper their
adjustment to their new home. They embraced all that was America. The pride, the
honor, the concept of a new free homeland worth dying for... Grant an illegal alien
amnesty, and you can bet your last dime that they will apply for (and get) dual
citizenship, send what money they can back to Mexico, and if the going should get
rough, head back to their old homeland. There is no absolutely no commitment
expected of them to stay in America. How many Europeans chartered a boat back to the
homeland? Not too many. Why? Because the price they paid was enough to seriously
consider the gravity of what they were doing. They weren't afforded the luxury of
just getting picked up by the I.N.S. and getting a free ride back.
* Education: Not just for breakfast anymore...
Why on earth would we burden our educational system with the added responsibilty of
teaching kids (and parents) who don't speak english, when it has always been a
challenge to teach children (and parents) who do? School is challenging enough for
the english speaking youth as it is. Education is expensive enough without adding
the hundreds of millions of dollars that it will take to educate and train hispanics
that have arrived here by other then legal means.
* Granting amnesty to illegals will have also have a grave impact on this country in
the way of legal precedents. In addition to that, can you imagine what kind of
impact it will have on the U.S. Border Security, having to deal with 1.5 to 2
million ( probably a lot more, I'm being conservative...) now LEGAL immigrants who
would now have the right to come and go across the southern borders as they please?
Just because 2 million illegals are granted amnesty doesn't mean that illegal border
crossing will stop. It will actually have the reverse effect, because if only 10% of
those granted amnesty have one relative looking for a place to emigrate to, we're
still looking at 150,000 to 200,000 potential illegals who stand a better chance of
actually being able to circumvent our current immigration laws, and take unlawful
refuge in our country. It won't minimize the problem, it will amplify it.

If Mexico wants to attempt to conquer America, that's more admirable than stealing
Her away in bits and pieces, and we could certainly deal with that, as we have all
of the other threats that have plagued our nation and other nations as well.
We set an example to the rest of the world of how a great nation becomes such; we
do not covet the "secret", we broadcast it globally in hopes that the concept will
reproduce itself.
Once the corruption is dealt with, the people of any nation can use our blueprint
and become a free and independant nation. But it takes an INCREDIBLY STRONG CODE OF
ETHICS and STRENGTH and COURAGE. A weak society cannot merely run away from the
source of their problems and hope that they are accepted by the virtue of grace,
particularly when they bring with them an infectious mindset that retards the
growth of the host.

A commonly held belief is that "those not contribing to the solution are adding to
the problem". Makes perfect sense to me.
